Monique Lhuillier is most famous for her wedding dresses, never the less red carpet is also one of her specialties. Her collection is actually the one that is most based on red carpet events. She brought glam, print and most importantly, design, to this collection for highfashion events. Even though she has pants and shorts the majority of the collection has flow. No, not the peplums but the she ended with a couple of evening; red carpet; best-dressed worthy dresses. There are a couple of plain dresses, some with a lot of glitter, some with tribal inspired prints and others with tie dye inspired prints in some ways it did look like a collection, surprisingly. To bring everything together she put nude lip gloss and ocean blue eye shadow on the models.
What was Lhuillier inspired by? That's an easy one: water! She was inspired by her sailing journey around the Mediterranean. That of course explains all the blue, scale and under water prints.
I have been seeing a lot of peplums in RTW Spring/Summer 2013 collections, and Monique's is no different. The looks with the peplums are actually one of my favorites for this collection. She added waist peplums which can easily be worn with pants and skirts like she showed. Peplums and water? I'm seeing a connection here, she wanted to create more flow.

Should Monique Lhuillier go out to sea more? Definitely! She played so beautifully with the colors and the prints and the flow that she created a almost-everything-best-dressed-on-the-red-carpet collection that I look forward to seeing on many more people.
