Jason Wu RTW Spring Summer 2013

Surely you can understand that I was really looking forward to Jason Wu's show and he didn't disappoint one bit. He went classic black and white with a modern twist for most looks. This collection is in so many ways sexy and feminine and some looks even have a hint of female empowerment. I find it so admiring if a male designer captures the modern successful business woman. Who more to do it than the young and talented Jason. Lace, leather, black and white is what the collection is. More than that it also has two or three peach/orange pieces with a waist peplum. More importantly work pants and high-waisted shorts. To sum up there's something for every woman who needs to go anywhere.

Jason is young, only 29 and turning 30 at the end of this month September 27th, and has already designed for First Lady Michelle Obama. First Lady of Fashion Michelle and Jason met through Andre Leon Talley and since then she has been a frequent customer. Jason Wu also designed Michelle Obama's dress at the inaugural ball, yes the beautiful one shoulder floor-length dress. That is probably the most memorable dress anyone in politics has ever worn.

I spot Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn and Cara Delevingne as one of the red lip-ed models. Both Jourdan and Cara Delevingne - and also David Gandy - are up for Model of the Year at the BFA (British Fashion Awards). Miss Jourdan Dunn won this award back in 2008. Davind Gandy and Jourdan Dunn were both in the All-star Closing Ceremony of this Year's Olympics.

Jason chose classic background music for this collection, here's the video:

I'm really looking forward to seeing my favorite designers' Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week shows for Ready To Wear Spring Summer 2013, but this is definitely one of my favorite shows so far. I'm also looking forward to discovering more talented designers, it's always great to see new fresh faces on the runway. Has your favorite designer shown their Ready To Wear collection yet? And did you like Jason Wu's collection? Leave a comment and let me know!
Much Love,
