Badgley Mischka RTW Spring/Summer 2013

Badgley Mischka is a collection designed by Mark Badgley and James Mischka. James and Mark are famous for their distinguished red carpet designs. That can also be seen in this RTW Spring/Summer 2013 collection. Even thought 80% of their collection is red carpet, and not everyday clothing, they have a certain sophistication that their customers and fans always seem to find so important.
Mark and James were inspired by the haunting beauty from the 1935 A Midsummer Night's Dream. Which explain the romantic side.

Some of the pieces truly stand out, no doubt, but I would appreciate a bit more color. Some of the looks were so fantastic but they just needed a bit more pop of color. The entire collection is based on pastel and nude colors. That's not a huge problem but when someone who wears B.M. ends up in the best dressed list, they maybe won't end up best dressed overall because they don't have that something that makes it a level higher.
With that said they do have a couple of amazing pieces which look great separately and together, like the pastel shorts and the 3D flower-on-top-peplum-on-the-bottom strapless top.

Mark Badgley - James Mischka
Mark and James met in Manhattan at Parsons School of Design. They are not just business partners but they are also a couple. They launched Badgley Mischka in 1988 while Badgley Mischka Bridal launched in 1993. They are very successful and their collections can be found at the most prestigious stores like Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Bloomingdales.

The lace - romantic - looks were my favorite looks over all. They had a certain femininity and sophistication about them.
Let me know what you thought.
Much Love,
